Modern Metal Wall Art

By Corey Dwinnell

There are many different types art to showcase in your home or office, most common being paintings and sculptures. There is a new movement (if you want to call it that) that is moving towards a more personalized and meaningful approach to art for your home. There are now a few different approaches to showing off your own artwork, designs or photographs in your home.

I have found many different websites that allow you to upload your own artwork or photographs and then have them printed on canvas or fine art paper. Often times you can even choose what type of matte color and frame you want. It seems frame shops may one day become obsolete if people start moving to the web for their artwork needs. There are also sites that specialize in vinyl wall decals. Some of these sites allow you to upload images and others already have images to pick from. Images range from kid friendly to design savvy.

The most modern, professional yet unique way to display your own photographs is by having them mounted to aluminum. www.bumblejax.com will mount your image to a .125" piece of aluminum and the print ships to you with wooden slats glued to the back as well as hanging hardware so all you have to do is hang it once it's out of the box. This look is modern and different and gives any room a fresh and personalized look.

Online services have already severely impacted print and photography brick and mortar businesses. Why not the frame shops?

Thank you for sharing this information, Corey. I would think that shipping and handling cost for a large piece would be a consideration in favor of local venders.
I like your ideas and look forward to reading more.
Best wishes.
